TL;DR
Specialist, Launch Management Engineer - General Assembly (Automotive): Coordinating assembly-shop activities for vehicle launches, including production readiness, build timelines, equipment, budgets, documentation, and cross-functional measures with an accent on pre-series vehicle production and assembly-process quality. Focus on monitoring milestones and key indicators, escalating delays and cost issues, optimizing production processes, and organizing start-up activities.

Location: Blythewood, South Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel.

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

  • Provide technical launch support and represent assembly-shop capabilities during launch activities.
  • Monitor tools and equipment readiness, build timelines, production-line readiness, deadlines, issues, and budgets.
  • Coordinate measures across specialist departments, the vehicle manufacturing site, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Collect, document, analyze, and communicate technical and production information for decision-making.
  • Prepare financial reports, forecasts, presentations, and escalation actions for overruns or missed deadlines.
  • Establish the assembly-shop start-up organization, communication channels, and knowledge-transfer activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least 4 years of experience in logistics within a BEV or ICE OEM, preferably in the automotive industry.
  • Strong understanding of vehicle assembly production processes, including steering and coordination systems.
  • Experience analyzing production data, identifying trends, optimizing pre-series production planning, and solving production challenges.
  • Experience optimizing assembly production processes and implementing best practices.
  • Proficient communication, project management, change management, reporting, and Microsoft Office skills.
