Senior Mechanical Engineer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Define hardware architecture for integration into OEM vehicles.
• Design mechanical, thermal, cosmetic cover, and finish solutions for autonomous vehicles.
• Develop new hardware platforms and improve existing vehicle designs.
• Collaborate with OEMs, partners, and cross-functional teams on product requirements, final designs, and integration plans.
• Support vendor validation through FAI and CPK dimensional reports and resolve DFM challenges.
• Maintain compliance with QMS requirements, monitor quality, and drive process improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of hands-on detailed product design experience.
• Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks, Creo, or Unigraphics, including surfacing tools.
• Knowledge of GD&T and experience releasing 2D drawings.
• Experience reviewing vendor FAI/CPK dimensional reports and working through DFM challenges with external vendors.
• Hands-on mechanical and manufacturing process experience, with the ability to work cross-functionally.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of Pdmlink or Arena.
• Experience with FEA tools and understanding of vibration, fatigue, and solid mechanics.
• Understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and electrical fundamentals.
• Experience managing requirements and tracking and resolving engineering issues.
• Ability to travel.
