Location: Hybrid in Warren, Michigan, with attendance required at least three times per week. Travel is required for less than 25% of the role. The position is not eligible for relocation benefits.

What you will do
- Serve as a subject matter expert in supplier capacity planning, line installation, launch execution, and run-at-rate readiness.
- Visit suppliers facing capacity or execution issues, identify manufacturing gaps, and develop corrective action and recovery plans.
- Assess installed capacity against awarded volumes, process assumptions, staffing, equipment readiness, and production requirements.
- Analyze line rates, station performance, bottlenecks, throughput constraints, and capacity calculations.
- Support run-at-rate preparation, issue containment, recovery planning, execution, and closure.
- Coach Supplier Quality Engineers and coordinate multiple supplier issues using structured project management practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in advanced manufacturing, industrial engineering, quality, engineering, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of calculating, installing, launching, and validating manufacturing capacity in production environments.
- Experience troubleshooting line performance, bottlenecks, staffing assumptions, equipment readiness, throughput constraints, and launch issues.
- Ability to work directly with suppliers on detailed, credible, and executable recovery plans.
- GM immigration sponsorship is not available; candidates must have the required U.S. work authorization without company sponsorship.
Nice to have
- Degree in industrial, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering.
- Supplier-facing manufacturing or launch experience in automotive or high-volume manufacturing.
- Experience preparing suppliers or plants for run-at-rates and supporting automotive OEM or Tier 1 launches.
- Experience with line balancing, cycle-time analysis, labor modeling, equipment integration, and manufacturing readiness reviews.
- Experience training or mentoring others in capacity and launch execution.
