Associate II, Growth & Strategy (Energy)

Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland; 5 days in office. Standard hours are 8:00am–5:00pm ET, Monday–Friday. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Salary: $85,000–$110,000 per year, base salary.

What you will do

• Analyze corporate development opportunities, new ventures, customer-facing services, capital formation, M&A, and strategic partnerships.
• Collaborate with technical, commercial, and financial teams to improve project cost, schedule, and technical or commercial viability.
• Support company-wide strategy development through market analysis, presentations, business cases, and operational processes.
• Develop and maintain financial models for infrastructure and energy investments, including sensitivity cases and financing or offtake structures.
• Prepare executive, board, and investor presentations and materials, including quarterly Board of Directors meeting materials.
• Present and explain financial models, respond to RFIs, structure deals, and improve modeling tools, templates, and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, or a related field.
• Typically 3–4 years of experience in investment banking, project finance, consulting, infrastructure private equity, or a capital-intensive operating company.
• Strong Excel modeling skills, including building models from scratch and creating sensitivity cases.
• Strong PowerPoint skills and experience creating executive- and board-level presentation decks.
• Experience with strategy development, market and competitor analysis, opportunity evaluation, and business case development.
• Ability to simplify complex financial insights and communicate clearly with executives, engineers, commercial teams, and other audiences.
