Manager, Product Operations (Fintech)

Location: New York, United States

Estimated base salary: $150K–$175K per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead and develop a 5–7-person Entity Operations team supporting Payroll Tax and Business Formations products.
• Own the operational health of products spanning complex workflows across all 50 states and local agencies.
• Establish quality programs, metrics, controls, audits, remediation processes, and performance dashboards.
• Improve processes, tooling, automation, and AI-enabled workflows while preserving appropriate human judgment.
• Partner with Product and Engineering to identify recurring issues, document requirements, and improve product workflows.
• Manage BPO and external operations partners, including training, quality, capacity, performance, and escalations.

Requirements

• 5–7+ years of experience in operations, product operations, compliance operations, regulatory operations, or another function involving complex workflows.
• Experience leading and developing an operations team.
• Experience managing outsourced or external operations teams, including BPOs, vendors, or offshore partners.
• Strong systems and process thinking, with experience improving operations through process design, tooling, automation, AI, and measurement.
• Strong analytical skills and comfort using operational metrics to identify bottlenecks and improve performance.
• Experience partnering with Product and Engineering, taking ownership, and exercising sound judgment in ambiguous environments.

Nice to have

• Experience in payroll, business formation, government registrations, tax operations, compliance, fintech, or legal tech.
• Experience operating workflows across multiple jurisdictions or government agencies.
• Experience in a high-growth startup, ideally at the Series B or C stage.
