Product Designer (AI)

Location: San Mateo, United States

Salary: $160,000–$191,000 per year, plus equity

Builds and serves specialized AI models for enterprise customers across text, image, embedding, audio, and multimodal workloads.

What you will do

• Own product design end to end, including research, prototyping, high-fidelity design, and iteration based on real usage.
• Translate complex AI infrastructure workflows such as model deployment, inference monitoring, and agent orchestration into intuitive interfaces.
• Build and evolve the design system, visual language, and component library for a consistent platform experience.
• Partner with Engineering and Product Management on product decisions from early concepts through delivery.
• Design cohesive developer experiences across onboarding, APIs, console workflows, and production usage.
• Use AI-powered design tools to accelerate the design workflow.

Requirements

• 5+ years of product design experience, ideally with developer tools, cloud platforms, infrastructure products, or complex B2B systems.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating systems thinking and solutions to complex UX problems.
• Expertise in Figma and familiarity with FigJam, Framer, Principle, or similar tools.
• Experience owning product areas end to end and working effectively in ambiguous startup environments.
• Curiosity about AI, including hands-on use of LLMs and informed opinions about the field.
• Strong communication skills for explaining design rationale to engineers, product managers, and leadership.

Nice to have

• Experience designing developer platforms, APIs, or cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, Azure, or Vercel.
• Familiarity with front-end development or design-to-code workflows.
• Exposure to agent-driven UX patterns and human interaction with autonomous AI systems.
• Ability to turn technical constraints into design opportunities.
