Product Designer (AI)

Location: New York City, NY; hybrid

Salary: $180,000–$220,000 base salary per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Build a scalable, React-based, component-driven design system that engineers use by default.
• Make the design system directly consumable by AI tools such as Claude Code and Codex.
• Educate engineers on using the design system to make effective independent UI and UX decisions.
• Introduce rapid prototyping practices to validate feature ideas before significant engineering work begins.
• Review significant frontend changes for design quality and usability.
• Establish a scalable design process and feedback loops with customer strategists and end-users.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of experience designing complex digital products, with a portfolio demonstrating shipped work, problem framing, and visual craft.
• Strong user experience principles and frontend skills in React, with the ability to work with TSX and CSS or collaborate technically with engineers.
• Ability to simplify dense, stateful workflows through interaction design and information architecture.
• Strong visual and systems design skills, including typography, spacing, hierarchy, and motion.
• Proficiency in Figma and the ability to communicate design decisions clearly to customers, engineers, and operational stakeholders.
• Must be based in New York, NY.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-enabled prototyping and tools such as Claude.
• Experience designing logistics, operations, defense, healthcare, or other complex operational products.
• Experience in fast-paced startup environments with evolving requirements.
