Senior Software Engineer, Back-End (Power Packs)

Location: US Remote - California. Candidates within a 1-hour commuting distance of the office may be expected to work onsite most of the time. hirify.global uses e-Verify to validate the ability to work legally in the United States.

Salary: $140,971–$228,870 annually, with possible additional bonuses, commissions, or other compensation.

What you will do

• Build and operate backend services, APIs, internal tools, and integrations supporting the Power Packs customer experience and full pack lifecycle.
• Develop shared data foundations for scalable marketplace and white-label experiences.
• Participate across the software development lifecycle, from technical design through production release.
• Translate business requirements into clean, extensible technical designs and APIs with Product, Engineering, and partner teams.
• Troubleshoot data, integration, and service issues across a distributed codebase.
• Improve system design, observability, documentation, security, and engineering practices while using AI tooling such as Claude.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building backend or data-intensive production systems.
• 4+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong database and data-modeling skills with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL and DynamoDB.
• Experience with AWS, AWS Lambda, Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, APIs, monitoring, security, and documentation practices.
• Strong technical, analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and process-documentation skills.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum and day-to-day use of AI tooling for solution design, architecture, and implementation.

Nice to have

• Experience with white-label or multi-tenant architectures and distributed messaging systems such as Apache Kafka.
• Experience with Python, pytest, unittest, Node, TypeScript, Twitch streaming services, or fullstack development.
