Senior Software Engineer (Java/AWS)

Location: 100% remote within the continental United States; standard business hours align with the Eastern Time Zone. Occasional travel to client sites or meetings may be required.

Salary: $115,000–$150,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain secure Java applications and microservices deployed on AWS.
• Build RESTful APIs, web services, data persistence features, data models, and external interfaces.
• Perform requirements analysis, architecture, development, unit and integration testing, troubleshooting, and debugging.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, AWS deployments, Linux environments, and production issue resolution.
• Translate Confluence requirements into Jira user stories and work within an Agile Scrum process.
• Mentor junior software engineers and collaborate with technical leaders, stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams supporting the U.S. Navy.

Requirements

• Must reside in the continental United States and be eligible for U.S. employment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 7+ years of software development experience and at least 2 years of AWS Cloud experience.
• Professional experience with Java Spring Framework, including Spring Boot, Batch, Data, and Security.
• Experience developing secure RESTful APIs and web applications within microservices architectures.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required for this eligibility.

Nice to have

• Active Secret security clearance.
• Experience with React, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS, Docker, Ansible, Jenkins, Python, Bash, Perl, Git, Bitbucket, Confluence, and Jira.
• Mobile development experience for iOS or Android.
