Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Hybrid role with primary in-office presence at the Bellevue Skyline Office in Bellevue, Washington, United States

Annual salary: $108,000–$216,000 in Bellevue, Washington; an alternative range of $117,000–$234,000 applies to Sunnyvale, California. Performance bonuses and stock may also be available.

What you will do

• Lead the full lifecycle development of scalable, secure backend services, APIs, and AI/ML components.
• Build and maintain the creative management APIs, video transcoding, and image optimization systems.
• Design and implement Java microservices using Spring Boot and Spring WebFlux.
• Develop solutions for onsite and offsite ad delivery with high performance and reliable integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into maintainable software.
• Support code reviews, debugging, automated testing, observability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering or related work.
• Expert-level Java knowledge and experience building Java-based backend systems.
• Extensive experience with microservices, Spring Boot, Spring WebFlux, multithreading, networking, and distributed systems.
• Experience with technologies such as Solr, Kafka, Memcached, Cassandra, cloud platforms, Git, Maven, and Jenkins.
• Knowledge of caching, offline storage, performance tuning, data structures, algorithms, CI/CD, and automated testing.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with WCAG 2.2 AA, assistive technologies, and digital accessibility practices.
