Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Warren, Michigan, United States; hybrid work with 3 days in the office and 2 days remote; must be able to report to the local office.

What you will do

• Develop and operate the Firmware Over The Air backend platform for campaign execution and firmware delivery to vehicles.
• Own multiple critical microservices covering OTA workflows, package building, and vehicle interactions.
• Design and implement business features, technical solutions, database schemas, API specifications, and service flows.
• Build, deploy, and support services across environments using CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Drive code quality, performance, scalability, security, technical standards, and peer reviews.
• Collaborate with development, product management, architecture, stakeholders, and the user community.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Applications, Applied Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• At least five years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a related role.
• Five years of experience developing complex cloud-native platforms and 12-factor microservices with Spring and Spring Boot.
• Experience with Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, REST APIs, event-driven architecture, Kafka, Pulsar, JMS, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Akka.
• Experience debugging and analyzing production issues with ELK Stack and Prometheus.
• Experience with cloud computing and platforms including Cloud Foundry, AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
