Senior Java Software Developer (AI)

Location: Remote in Georgia, United States. Travel may include up to 10% domestic travel, and onsite onboarding is required during the initial days of employment.

Salary: $142,800–$196,350 per year, including base pay and variable incentive pay if eligible.

What you will do

• Design, develop, and support large-scale, mission-critical cloud-native enterprise applications.
• Build and deploy cloud-based software across global data centers using pipeline technologies.
• Define software architecture, technical roadmaps, engineering standards, and design patterns.
• Develop AI-powered enterprise platforms using LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and orchestration frameworks.
• Lead architecture reviews and complex technical initiatives across engineering, product, security, infrastructure, and operations teams.
• Mentor engineers and drive modernization, cloud transformation, resiliency, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher and 10 years of progressive Java/J2EE enterprise application development experience, or a high school diploma/GED and 14 years of relevant experience.
• Expertise in Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, microservices, RESTful APIs, event-driven systems, and distributed architectures.
• Experience with public and multi-cloud environments, preferably AWS, plus Docker, Kubernetes, and infrastructure as code.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI, LLMs, RAG, AI agents, and intelligent automation solutions.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL data platforms, including PostgreSQL, Cassandra, DynamoDB, MongoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch/OpenSearch.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employment visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Healthcare interoperability experience with HL7, FHIR, X12, EMR/EHR integrations, and HIPAA-compliant systems.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card and meet applicable government access requirements.
• Experience with Kafka, MinIO, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, Zero Trust, and observability platforms.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, SAFe, technical mentoring, and cross-functional leadership.
