Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in New York, NY; relocation support provided

Salary: $300,000–$330,000 per year, plus equity and bonus eligibility with up to a 40% performance bonus

What you will do

• Lead the design and development of major platform, product, and infrastructure systems.
• Architect scalable infrastructure for financial data processing and analytics.
• Build systems that ingest and process financial data from multiple retailer sources.
• Develop AI-powered workflows for invoice, deduction, and retailer report ingestion and financial automation.
• Build analytics infrastructure for forecasting and demand planning while improving core platform performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Partner with product and leadership on technical strategy and roadmap, and mentor engineers across the team.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years in a staff-level role.
• Strong systems design and software architecture experience.
• Proven ability to build and scale complex production systems.
• Strong product instincts and the ability to translate real-world operational workflows into software.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI/ML-powered systems.
• Experience with large-scale data pipelines or analytics infrastructure.
• Experience working directly with customers or cross-functional teams.
• Interest in early-stage startups and high-ownership roles.
• Computer science degree or equivalent experience.
