Senior Software Engineer - Infrastructure (AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States; on-site

Salary: $250,000–$350,000 annually, plus equity and a potential bonus of $0–$100,000

What you will do

• Architect and build core infrastructure for data generation platforms, human-in-the-loop systems, evaluation pipelines, and agentic systems.
• Develop distributed systems for large-scale datasets and high-throughput workloads with strong reliability guarantees.
• Create internal developer platforms, reusable infrastructure, APIs, and shared services.
• Optimize production performance through observability, monitoring, fault tolerance, and scalable architecture.
• Own long-term architecture across data pipelines, compute infrastructure, task orchestration, and storage.
• Collaborate with engineers and researchers to establish engineering standards and support AI experimentation workflows.

Requirements

• Strong experience building production distributed systems or platform infrastructure.
• Proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript, including Node.js or Next.js, or similar backend technologies.
• Experience designing and operating cloud systems on GCP or AWS.
• Experience with message queues, event-driven systems, high-throughput data pipelines, and asynchronous processing.
• Strong understanding of scalability, performance, reliability, and production ownership.
• Experience building internal developer platforms, shared infrastructure, or large-scale data processing pipelines.

Nice to have

• Experience with AI infrastructure, LLM evaluation systems, or ML pipelines.
• Experience at high-growth startups or scaling early infrastructure.
• Experience designing human-in-the-loop or workflow orchestration systems.
