Senior Specialist, Industrial Engineering & Production System (Automotive)

Location: Blythewood, South Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel.

Salary: $110,000–$135,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Establish, steer, and refine the Lean culture and unified production system across the manufacturing site.
• Build digital shopfloor management and implement Lean methods to improve productivity.
• Develop plant-wide productivity reporting and coordinate actions based on relevant KPIs.
• Define production processes, optimization concepts, process plans, sequencing, labor requirements, and production time management.
• Design workplaces and work processes, including layouts, work boards, material supply routes, vehicle sequencing, and ergonomics.
• Optimize shift systems and production speeds while coordinating cross-functional projects, knowledge transfer, budgets, and improvement programs.

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in automotive production.
• Bachelor’s degree in business management, project management, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may substitute.
• Experience with Lean Management, continuous improvement process management, factory time-factor and process-management systems, industrial engineering studies, human work design tools, and the MTM method.
• Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work onsite in Blythewood, South Carolina, 4–5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience moderating optimization workshops and managing long-term cross-functional projects.
• Knowledge of product sequencing, process and equipment impacts, ergonomics, office and web-based applications, and presenting results to management.
• Customer-oriented skills.
