Medical Director (Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist - Remote) (Pediatric Mental Health)

Location: Remote (National), United States

Annual base salary: $250,000–$280,000, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead the psychiatry service line, owning clinical quality, provider performance, care protocols, and operational execution.
• Provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management for pediatric patients across multiple states, with a clinical caseload of up to 50%.
• Supervise nurse practitioners, a pediatrician, and potentially additional psychiatrists; oversee hiring, onboarding, performance management, scheduling, and personnel decisions.
• Develop treatment pathways, chart-review methods, quality assurance processes, safety protocols, and risk-mitigation practices.
• Partner with the CMO, Legal, Compliance, Care Operations, Product, and Engineering on telehealth compliance, workflows, technology builds, and AI strategy.
• Support cross-licensing and Collaborative Practice Agreements for the prescribing team across multiple jurisdictions.

Requirements

• Board certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
• Expertise in comprehensive pediatric psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, treatment, and medication management.
• Direct people-management experience, including supervision, performance development, and personnel decisions.
• Experience supervising nurse practitioners and supporting the development of a prescribing team.
• Multi-state licensure, or the ability and willingness to obtain cross-licensure.
• Experience with telehealth platforms, digital health technologies, AI tools, and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• New York licensure or licensure in other states with openness to cross-licensure.
• Experience building clinical protocols, care pathways, or quality frameworks in a startup or high-growth environment.
• Experience with AI-assisted documentation or clinical decision-support tools.
• Willingness to travel periodically a few times per quarter.
