Manager, PCBA Manufacturing (Aerospace)

Location: Redondo Beach, United States; onsite. Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain an export license under ITAR/EAR regulations.

Salary: $140,000–$180,000 per year, plus potential stock options and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead, recruit, mentor, and develop PCBA manufacturing engineers, supervisors, and technicians.
• Guide the creation of work instructions for board assembly, solder rework, inspection, and acceptance testing.
• Set up and operate an SMT line supporting development and production.
• Build PCBA acceptance testing capabilities, including functional and environmental testing.
• Collaborate with design engineers on manufacturability and contribute to PDR and CDR reviews.
• Optimize PCBA production rate, yield, cost, quality, reliability, and delivery to box-level assembly.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of PCBA manufacturing experience, preferably in a high-reliability environment.
• 3+ years of experience in people management.
• Strong experience developing and mentoring people.
• Deep understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes and materials.
• U.S. Person status or eligibility to obtain an applicable U.S. export license is required.

Nice to have

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
• 6+ years of PCBA manufacturing experience for space applications.
• Experience setting up and operating an SMT line.
• Experience with X-ray/CT, AOI, flying probe, and other PCBA inspection techniques.
• Experience with PCBA functional and environmental testing, including thermal cycling, vibration, and thermal vacuum testing.
