TL;DR
Nuclear Software Engineering Manager (Nuclear Analysis Software): Supporting the acquisition, integration, qualification, and development of engineering analysis software for the design and licensing of next-generation nuclear reactors with an accent on verification and validation, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. Focus on managing software qualification, maintaining NQA-1 procedures, coordinating contractors, and ensuring analysis tools meet design and safety requirements.

Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland, United States; 4–5 days in the office. Standard hours are 8:00am–5:00pm ET, Monday–Friday. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Salary: $137,838–$229,729 per year, base salary.

What you will do

  • Support the acquisition, integration, qualification, and development of engineering analysis software used for nuclear reactor design and licensing.
  • Deliver internally developed analysis software, including installation files, documentation, testing, and user support.
  • Coordinate verification and validation documentation and Commercial Grade Dedication packages for relevant analysis software.
  • Maintain analysis software in accordance with the Quality Assurance Program, including NQA-1 and other applicable standards.
  • Support project plans, staffing, recruitment, and software development activities with managers and project leads.
  • Manage software services contractors and oversee the performance, acceptance, and quality assurance of their work products.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related discipline from an accredited university or college.
  • Typically 10 years of engineering experience; graduate degrees typically count as more than two years of experience.
  • Experience with analysis software verification and validation.
  • Experience using or developing analysis software under a heavily regulated quality assurance regime, such as nuclear systems design, nuclear safety analysis, flight control software, or safety-related industrial controls.
  • Ability to work 4–5 days per week in the Gaithersburg, Maryland office.
