Senior Engineer - Software (FPGA/LLVM)

Location: Toronto, Canada — 67 Yonge Street, 10th Floor

Annual base salary: $90,000–$140,000, plus restricted stock units and quarterly bonus payments.

What you will do

• Develop, verify, and maintain analysis and transformation passes for an LLVM/MLIR-based high-level synthesis compiler.
• Optimize HLS-generated hardware architectures for power efficiency, performance, and area utilization.
• Analyze complex customer applications built with high-level synthesis to identify performance and area improvements.
• Implement new HLS compiler features and contribute to broader FPGA SoC design and verification workflows.
• Collaborate with software and FPGA engineers in an agile development environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Excellent C/C++ programming skills and a strong understanding of algorithms and data structures.
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with LLVM/MLIR and strong compiler knowledge.
• Solid understanding of digital design principles.
• Ability to work on large-scale software projects in Linux and Windows environments.

Nice to have

• In-depth hands-on FPGA experience and familiarity with HLS tools.
• Proficiency with Git and scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or TCL.
