TL;DR
Compiler Engineer (LLVM/C++): Designing, developing, testing, and debugging LLVM-based C, C++, SYCL, and Fortran compilers for Intel CPUs, GPUs, and accelerators with an accent on compiler optimizations, parallelization, vectorization, and processor architecture support. Focus on contributing to Clang, DPC++, and SYCL, developing high-coverage tests, upstreaming open-source improvements, and solving complex compiler bugs.

Location: Hybrid work at an assigned hirify.global site in the United States; primary location Santa Clara, California, with additional locations in Beaver Brook, Massachusetts; Hillsboro, Oregon; and Austin, Texas.

Annual salary: $128,880–$181,940 USD.

What you will do

  • Design and develop compiler features and optimizations for hirify.global architectures.
  • Support new processor features and architectures in collaboration with hardware engineering teams.
  • Contribute to Clang, DPC++, SYCL, and related compiler tools.
  • Develop and maintain test cases that ensure functionality, code coverage, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with LLVM open-source communities, language standards groups, external partners, and compiler companies.
  • Improve parallelization and vectorization support and investigate complex software bugs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Informatics, or a related technical field.
  • At least 3 years of C/C++ programming experience, including object-oriented design and data structures.
  • At least 3 years of LLVM compiler technology experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience with open-source projects.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience developing and maintaining production-grade compilers.
  • Familiarity with Clang, LLVM, or MLIR.
  • Experience with OpenMP, SYCL, CUDA, GPU programming, performance analysis, optimization, and debugging.
