Senior Compiler Engineer - Systems Team (Quantum Computing)

Location: Cambridge, UK; hybrid

Salary: £68,000–£100,000 per year, depending on experience. Part-time applications may also be considered.

hirify.global develops quantum error-correction technology and collaborates with quantum hardware providers and government agencies to advance fault-tolerant quantum computing.

What you will do

• Host technical workshops on the quantum error-correction interface and evaluate customer control-system and data-communication requirements.
• Deploy and integrate end-to-end systems with customer quantum control systems.
• Write Python and C++ or Rust code to adapt software, validate data-packet delivery, and support quantum experiments.
• Benchmark systems and identify hardware latency limitations.
• Debug customer issues, reproduce configurations with QA, and develop tracing scripts.
• Feed customer-system trends and requirements back into the product team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Broad knowledge of compilers, operating systems, and computer architectures.
• Professional compiler experience, including LLVM, MLIR, or comparable technologies.
• Experience shipping software to users.
• Proficiency in Python and in either C++ or Rust.
• Ability to translate product requirements into technical specifications and communicate effectively in independent and collaborative work.

Nice to have

• Experience with scientific instrumentation.
• PhD in a relevant subject.
• Knowledge of quantum mechanics.
