Payment Onboarding Specialist (Payments)

Location: Remote, United States

Salary: $28–$30 USD per hour

What you will do

• Coordinate merchant onboarding applications, document collection, underwriting preparation, and merchant setup.
• Maintain reports, merchant files, project statuses, and implementation dates for Payment Operations and partner teams.
• Monitor onboarding progress, identify blockers, and coordinate issue resolution with project managers, merchants, partners, and underwriters.
• Conduct due diligence reviews and independently research and resolve merchant inquiries.
• Lead resolution of merchant setup and configuration issues while proactively preventing recurring problems.

Requirements

• Proficiency with Microsoft applications; expert-level Excel skills are highly desired.
• Experience with project management frameworks and the ability to manage multiple high-volume projects.
• Strong attention to detail, investigative and analytical skills, organization, prioritization, and time management.
• Excellent written, verbal, client-facing, and internal communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Experience as an Onboarding Specialist or in a similar role; insurance or merchant services experience is preferred.
