TL;DR
Electrical Engineer, Construction (Automotive): Leading electrical design, installation, and construction projects for Scout Motors’ South Carolina vehicle factory with an accent on industrial facilities, project coordination, and regulatory compliance. Focus on managing schedules, budgets, risks, quality, procurement, and complex electrical construction issues across multiple plant buildings.

Location: Columbia, South Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel.

Annual base salary: $100,000–$125,000, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

hirify.global is developing all-electric and range-extender pickup trucks and rugged SUVs while building a new vehicle manufacturing operation.

What you will do

  • Manage multiple electrical construction projects, including schedules, costs, changes, safety, procurement, risks, communications, and quality.
  • Coordinate electrical installations across the Press-Shop, Body-Shop, Paint-Shop, Assembly-Shop, central building, auxiliary buildings, substations, and facility connections.
  • Resolve complex construction issues, disputes, and disagreements related to electrical scope while tracking incentives and maintaining government relations.
  • Review project budgets, schedules, and quality reports to identify corrective actions throughout construction.
  • Collaborate with factory and equipment planning, IT, HR, production, government institutions, contractors, and construction firms.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and maintain effective cross-functional stakeholder relationships.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in Columbia, South Carolina, with 4–5 days per week in the office and occasional travel.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in plant construction or factory planning.
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, building engineering, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical installations, design, construction codes, and standards for industrial construction.
  • Experience reviewing building specifications and details, solving problems, managing multiple projects, and maintaining attention to detail.
  • Integrity, curiosity, resourcefulness, adaptability, collaboration, and a growth mindset.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree.
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering.
