What you will do

• Design, specify, commission, and scale high-voltage test equipment for battery module and pack manufacturing, including EOL testers, HiPot/isolation stations, and charge/discharge cyclers.
• Develop automated test scripts and architectures integrating test equipment with MES for data collection and product traceability.
• Collaborate with battery hardware and firmware teams to apply Design for Test principles and optimize new battery architectures for scalable manufacturing.
• Establish and enforce high-voltage safety controls, including NFPA 70E compliance, physical interlocks, LOTO procedures, and PPE standards.
• Lead root-cause analyses and cross-functional teardowns of complex test failures and non-conforming battery packs.
• Improve test cycle times and equipment OEE while transitioning processes from prototype builds to high-volume production and managing external test equipment vendors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 4+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing, including at least 2 years of high-voltage battery testing on 400V–800V+ systems.
• Hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting industrial test hardware such as Chroma, National Instruments, Keysight, Bitrode, or similar cyclers and DAQs.
• Proficiency with test automation using Python, LabVIEW, C++, or similar languages.
• Deep understanding of high-voltage electrical safety standards and production risk mitigation.
• Ability to translate complex electrical data into actionable insights for cross-functional teams.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling an EV battery production line from R&D into volume manufacturing.
• Knowledge of BMS, CAN bus communication, Vector CANalyzer or PCAN, and cell balancing logic.
• Experience querying manufacturing test data with SQL or similar tools.
• Experience integrating test stations with MES platforms such as Ignition, Plex, or custom solutions.
