Senior Electrical Engineer

Location: Boston, MA; hybrid workplace. Travel to manufacturing partners in Asia may be required.

Salary: $120,000–$200,000 per year.

What you will do

• Contribute to new product development and improve existing electrical designs for reliability and cost reduction.
• Troubleshoot and debug electrical issues found during development, manufacturing, and field use.
• Perform schematic capture, PCB layout, and bill of materials management.
• Integrate electronics into complex mechanical assemblies and support system reliability and performance.
• Work with hardware, firmware, manufacturing, and supplier teams in the US and Asia.
• Support EMC and safety certification for US and EU regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience developing electronics in the consumer or medical device industries.
• Experience with electronics assembly, rework, repair, laboratory bring-up, and debugging.
• Experience designing PCBs with schematic capture and layout EDA tools such as KiCad or Altium.
• Experience integrating electronics into complex mechanical assemblies and familiarity with certification testing procedures.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with BLDC motor drives, eddy current braking systems, and sensors such as encoders, load cells, or thermocouples.
• Knowledge of high-voltage systems below 400VDC and safety isolation schemes.
• C programming for firmware prototyping and Python or Matlab for data analysis.
• Experience with thermal management for electronics.
