Senior Software Verification Engineer (Python)

Location: Ottawa, Canada — onsite

What you will do

• Design and implement firmware, software, and optical test and verification strategies for products moving from design to full-scale production.
• Document and review test plans, automate and manually execute test cases, and report execution progress and results.
• Develop scalable test solutions and validate optical products using Agile methodologies.
• Collaborate with R&D, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to align product requirements.
• Integrate AI tools into testing and characterization workflows.
• Provide technical guidance and share verification expertise with junior team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of embedded product verification experience.
• Experience with Python or C# and strong knowledge of software testing methodologies.
• Experience designing and executing functional, performance, and regression test plans and cases, including automated interaction with devices under test and test equipment.
• Knowledge of Linux, Bash scripting, server deployment, configuration, logging, and monitoring tools.
• Experience with optical communications components, networking protocols, management interfaces, troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have

• Experience with LAG/LACP, LLDP, sZTP, BootZ, L3 ECMP, IP, UDP/TCP, DHCP, Layer 2 Ethernet/MAC, or gRPC.
• Knowledge of OpenConfig, SNMP, or gNMI.
