Software Engineer in Test (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote - Canada

Salary: CA$82,000–CA$102,000 annual base salary, plus equity

What you will do

• Build and maintain automated test scripts and cases for cybersecurity products using established frameworks.
• Execute test plans across endpoint, cloud-based, and microservices-driven security solutions.
• Collaborate with developers and product teams to apply quality practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support the integration of automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify, document, track, and help resolve defects with engineering teams.
• Use AI-powered engineering and testing tools to improve automation and reduce manual effort.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in software testing, quality engineering, or a related technical role, including exposure to test automation.
• Working knowledge of Playwright, JUnit, or TestNG and scripting or programming experience with TypeScript or Python.
• Foundational understanding of CI/CD concepts and familiarity with Git; interest in developing TDD and BDD skills.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, and learning skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Interest in applying AI-powered tools to software testing.

Nice to have

• Experience or interest in testing endpoint detection, threat detection, MDR/XDR, SIEM, or SOC products.
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, Jenkins, AWS, Azure, Docker, or Kubernetes.
