TL;DR
Employment Counsel - EMEA (Employment Law/SaaS): Providing employment law advice across the UK, Europe, and Middle East with an accent on HR support, compliance, employment agreements, and GTM compensation matters. Focus on managing cross-jurisdictional legal risks, coordinating local counsel, drafting restrictive covenants, and supporting employment disputes in a high-growth SaaS environment.

Location: London, United Kingdom; candidates within a reasonable commute to an office must work in the office at least 3 days a week.

What you will do

  • Advise HR and business leaders on recruiting, employee relations, performance management, leave, grievances, disciplinary actions, and other employment matters across the UK, Europe, and Middle East.
  • Monitor employment law developments, identify compliance gaps, and develop remediation measures with stakeholders.
  • Partner with the People Team and Go-To-Market leaders across Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success in EMEA.
  • Advise on variable compensation, commission plans, bonuses, and incentive-related disputes.
  • Draft and review employment agreements, offer letters, separation agreements, handbooks, HR policies, restrictive covenants, and intellectual property agreements.
  • Support employment disputes, regulatory proceedings, litigation coordination, and legal training for HR and management.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of post-qualification experience specializing in employment law.
  • Licensed qualified solicitor in England and Wales, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Experience gained at a reputable law firm and/or in-house legal department.
  • Pragmatic, strategic approach to legal advice with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, take initiative, assess risks, and collaborate in a dynamic environment.
  • English proficiency is required for the role.

Nice to have

  • Experience advising on European Works Councils, particularly in France.
  • Fluency in at least one European language in addition to English.
  • Authorization to practice law in both the UK and either the US or an EU member country.
