What you will do

• Own employee relations matters across the group, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, restructuring, and contentious cases.
• Advise founders, C-suite leaders, the Chief People Officer, and the Chief Legal Officer on employment risks and practical actions.
• Run employment tribunal claims and equivalent disputes, including restrictive covenant, non-solicitation, bonus, and contentious exit matters.
• Own employment contracts, policies, handbooks, global templates, and annual policy reviews across jurisdictions.
• Coordinate cross-border employment matters, manage local counsel, and identify inconsistencies between jurisdictions.
• Introduce AI and legal technology into employment workflows, while training HR, managers, and the legal team.

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with approximately 6–10 years' post-qualification experience.
• Employment law must be the primary area of practice, with a strong contentious track record and direct experience running tribunal claims.
• Ability to advise senior stakeholders directly and hold a clear position in discussions with founders.
• Commercial, practical judgment and the ability to operate as the sole specialist in employment law.
• Ability to identify matters requiring escalation to the Chief Legal Officer.

Nice to have

• In-house experience in financial services, trading, hedge funds, or another high-performance environment.
• Exposure to multi-jurisdictional employment work, particularly in the United States or the Netherlands.
• Experience implementing AI or legal technology in legal workflows.
• Experience with bonus and incentive disputes or covenant enforcement.
