Senior Legal Counsel - Employment

Location: London/Osterley, UK. Hybrid working with 3 days in the office per week. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Provide clear, commercial, and practical advice on contentious and non-contentious employment law matters, primarily across the UK and Ireland.
• Support HR and business leaders with transformation, M&A, restructuring, and other strategic commercial projects.
• Advise senior stakeholders on HR projects and risks, developing creative and risk-based solutions.
• Build effective relationships with HR, legal colleagues, hirify.global businesses, hirify.global Group, and NBCUniversal.
• Coach and develop team members and supervise paralegals handling in-house employment tribunal litigation.
• Retain and manage external counsel efficiently and cost-effectively.

Requirements

• Extensive experience handling UK employment law matters in a highly regarded law firm or equivalent in-house environment.
• Experience managing large-scale restructuring and M&A projects, reputational management issues, and trade union matters.
• Ability to supervise employment tribunal claims.
• Commercial judgment and the ability to provide creative, practical, and risk-based legal solutions.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, independent working, and business partnering skills.
• Appropriate right to work in the UK is required; sponsorship is not offered.

Nice to have

• In-house legal experience.
• Experience in telecommunications, media, technology, and/or entertainment.
• Experience working with external and overseas counsel.
