What you will do

  • Manage litigation matters, including issuing claims, handling defenses, and enforcement.
  • Handle insolvency proceedings, creditor services, and related insolvency matters.
  • Draft legal documents such as witness statements, settlement agreements, and winding-up petitions.
  • Assess liability and quantum, preparing reports and negotiating settlements with opposing counsel.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts relating to the sales business.
  • Coordinate external legal counsel and ensure compliance with internal governance frameworks.

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with at least two years’ post-qualification experience in practice.
  • Strong expertise in civil procedure rules, debt recovery, and breach of contract litigation.
  • Proven experience in contract law and drafting commercial contracts.
  • Analytical skills to assess debtor financial situations and recommend recovery strategies.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Must be based in or be able to work from the Manchester office.
