Project Manager (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Lead the planning, execution, and closure of Communications Security and Authority to Operate projects.
• Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and risk controls using tools such as Microsoft Project or Jira.
• Coordinate IT security teams, engineers, compliance officers, and external auditors through requirements gathering and ATO assessments.
• Oversee the Risk Management Framework process, including categorization, control selection, implementation, assessment, authorization, and continuous monitoring.
• Manage cryptographic key management, secure communication protocols, classified-information protection, and related ComSec activities.
• Prepare status reports, security plans, test reports, authorization packages, post-implementation reviews, and remediation plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Project Management, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred.
• At least 5 years of project management experience, including 3 years focused on cybersecurity, ComSec, or ATO processes in regulated industries.
• Strong knowledge of NIST RMF, FedRAMP, DISA, DoD Instruction 8510.01, NIST SP 800-53/171, FISMA, and equivalent compliance frameworks.
• Knowledge of encryption standards, secure hardware such as TEMPEST, communication security policies, FIPS 140-3, and CNSSI 1253.
• Experience with Agile or Waterfall methodologies, risk assessment tools, vulnerability scanning, and compliance auditing.
• US citizenship is required.
