Manufacturing Facilities Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, California; in-person collaboration at the Playa Vista office and across manufacturing, laboratory, warehouse, integration, and clean room environments. All applicants must be a U.S. Person due to export control requirements.

Salary: $100,000–$135,000 base annually, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain facility layouts, floor plans, equipment arrangements, utility plans, and occupancy drawings using AutoCAD.
• Translate manufacturing and operational requirements into layouts for production areas, laboratories, warehouses, integration areas, clean rooms, and offices.
• Analyze workflow, personnel movement, material flow, storage, and equipment placement to optimize factory efficiency and capacity.
• Plan and coordinate process utilities, including compressed gases, compressed air, process water, DI water, industrial fluids, waste lines, electrical capacity, exhaust, and ventilation.
• Lead small-to-medium facility modification projects from planning through implementation, commissioning, and closeout.
• Coordinate contractors, vendors, consultants, Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, EHS, and Facilities stakeholders.

Requirements

• U.S. Person status is required due to export control requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Facilities Management, Architecture, Construction Management, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 4–8 years of experience in facility planning, manufacturing layout planning, industrial engineering, facilities project management, or a related discipline.
• Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, technology, or industrial environments.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and facility layout development.
• Experience leading facility projects, interpreting facility drawings and utility requirements, and coordinating project execution.

Nice to have

• Experience with aerospace or defense manufacturing, clean rooms, laboratories, integration facilities, or production test areas.
• Knowledge of contamination control, environmental controls, ESD-sensitive operations, or precision manufacturing.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, continuous improvement, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, CAFM, IWMS, or CMMS platforms.
• Experience supporting equipment installations, facility modifications, or construction projects.
