Manufacturing Engineer (Electric Aviation)

Location: Onsite in South Burlington, Vermont, United States

Salary: $80,000–$110,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and improve assembly processes for Alia electric aircraft.
• Design manufacturing equipment, assembly fixtures, jigs, and related production solutions.
• Develop equipment specifications, RFQs, DFM concepts, and 3D design direction.
• Lead design reviews and guide vendors, equipment suppliers, and external engineering contractors.
• Manage equipment installation and commissioning as the project point of contact.
• Validate equipment and transition production lines to manufacturing teams with training and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
• At least 3 years of related experience in a technology-based industry.
• Experience designing or sourcing automated manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Experience introducing new equipment and processes into a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with integrating machines and equipment into a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and with electrical safety standards.
• Strong project management, leadership, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• 5–10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in electric motor manufacturing.
• Ability to create detailed fabrication drawings.
• Experience designing, managing, and commissioning manufacturing lines from start to finish.
