Location: Fully onsite in Long Beach, California, United States

Salary: $125,000–$155,000 for Test Engineer 3; $140,000–$175,000 for Senior Test Engineer

What you will do

  • Define and lead multiple test campaigns, including requirements verification, procedure development, and execution oversight.
  • Author and review test plans, procedures, readiness reports, compliance matrices, and other technical documentation.
  • Coordinate with program leadership, customers, regulators, vendors, technicians, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Analyze test data, investigate root causes, resolve anomalies and nonconformances, and troubleshoot flight hardware safely.
  • Serve as Test Director and technical point of contact for test communications, safety protocols, and facility compliance.
  • Provide technical support and mentorship to junior engineers and create training standards for test equipment operation.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience safely handling, operating, and testing flight hardware, including areas such as thermal, structural, electromagnetic interference/compatibility, RF, or fluids testing.
  • Experience leading complex test campaigns and multidisciplinary teams, with strong communication, documentation, data analysis, systems engineering, and failure analysis skills.
  • Ability to create training standards for technicians and engineers operating test equipment.

Nice to have

  • Master’s or higher degree in a relevant engineering field.
  • Knowledge of environmental and performance test methodologies and standards.
  • Expertise with data acquisition, test automation, and scripting using LabVIEW, Python, or MATLAB.
  • Experience with MIL-STD-810, DO-160, or NASA/DoD specifications.
  • Active Secret or Top Secret clearance.
