Sr. Trade and Customs Analyst

Location: Deerfield, Illinois, United States. Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.; visa sponsorship is not available.

Salary: $76,000–$104,500 annually, plus potential discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Support daily import and export operations and compliant cross-border movement of products and materials.
• Monitor customs clearance, resolve shipment delays and compliance issues, and coordinate with brokers and logistics providers.
• Prepare and review customs declarations, tariff classifications, customs valuations, and country-of-origin assessments.
• Maintain trade compliance programs including CTPAT, ISA, FTZ, and FTA initiatives.
• Conduct post-entry reviews, audits, self-assessments, compliance testing, and corrective actions.
• Analyze trade data, duty spend, broker metrics, and compliance trends to create reports and identify duty savings opportunities.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in global trade, customs compliance, or import/export operations.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, customs entry processes, and international trade requirements.
• Experience with CTPAT, ISA, FTZ, and FTA programs, including origin analysis and duty mitigation.
• Experience using BI Publisher for reporting, data extraction, and analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
• Licensed Customs Broker certification and experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, healthcare, or another highly regulated industry.
• Familiarity with SAP, JDE, GME, ACE, or other trade management systems.
• Knowledge of export controls, sanctions compliance, and denied-party screening.
