What you will do

  • Design, fabricate, operate, and improve test stands, fixtures, and supporting hardware for jet engines and subsystems.
  • Develop test plans, instrumentation schemes, data collection methods, and test strategies for hardware research and development.
  • Conduct hardware testing, analyze results, verify requirements, identify discrepancies, and determine corrective actions.
  • Work with propulsion design engineers to validate models, characterize performance, and inform design iterations.
  • Document P&IDs, electrical schematics, test procedures, and stand requirements.
  • Implement engineering controls and safety best practices for hazardous test environments.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with propulsion, fluidic, or mechanical systems, including hardware testing and analysis.
  • Experience with hazardous environments involving flammables, high voltage, or pressurized systems and their safety mitigations.
  • Knowledge of fluid-system hardware and instrumentation, including pressure, temperature, load cells, relays, solenoids, and pneumatics.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret test data and correlate results with analytical models or simulations.
  • Familiarity with CAD and the ability to design simple test hardware, fixtures, or modifications.
  • Ability and willingness to work in the San Francisco office five days per week.
