TL;DR
Maintenance Electrician (Electrical Systems/Fire Safety): Installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures, and fire alarm control systems across construction and industrial environments with an accent on code compliance, safety, and preventive maintenance. Focus on diagnosing complex electrical faults, interpreting technical diagrams, and coordinating retrofit and construction work while supporting apprentices.
Location: El Segundo, California, United States; onsite work

What you will do
- Install, maintain, repair, and inspect electrical wiring, equipment, fixtures, and control systems.
- Diagnose electrical problems involving wiring, circuit breakers, fire alarm systems, and control panels.
- Read blueprints, schematics, technical diagrams, and circuit drawings for installations and repairs.
- Perform preventive maintenance, identify hazards and defects, and ensure compliance with electrical codes and OSHA standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients on construction, retrofit, and infrastructure projects.
- Supervise, mentor, and support apprentices and junior electricians while maintaining accurate work records.
Requirements
- 5–7 years of hands-on experience as a certified electrician.
- Valid state-issued Journeyman or Master electrician license, as required.
- Completion of a certified electrical apprenticeship or equivalent formal training, plus a high school diploma or GED.
- Required experience with construction sites, new builds, remodels, infrastructure projects, fire alarm systems, and fire alarm control panels.
- Proficiency in electrical troubleshooting, repairs, code compliance, blueprints, technical drawings, and circuit diagrams.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification; ability to work in confined spaces, at heights, outdoors, and lift 50+ lbs.
Nice to have
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Experience with automated systems, energy-efficient technologies, smart home installations, high-voltage systems, renewable energy, or industrial electrical work.
