Engineering Technician

What you will do

• Build, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems.
• Assemble and troubleshoot test articles and supporting test equipment.
• Assist with developing manufacturing equipment, tools, procedures, and inspection techniques.
• Support manufacturing process and tooling development while reducing production time and maintaining quality.
• Organize and maintain tools and workspaces.

Requirements

• High-school diploma or equivalent.
• 5+ years of experience in shop fabrication, manufacturing, research, or a high-tech industry.
• 5+ years of technical experience with mechanical or electrical systems, high-pressure or high-vacuum systems, cryogenics, plumbing, soldering, system testing, power systems, or controls systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar software.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs and perform extended periods of typing, standing, or sitting.
• Ability to work on-site in a facility containing heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics.

Nice to have

• Experience with quality control, inspection procedures, automation equipment, PLCs, HMIs, or process controllers.
• Experience with reflow soldering and PCBA manufacturing.
• Experience with electrical schematics, wiring, mechanical drawings, machining, milling, saws, hand tools, and precision measuring tools.
• Crane or lifting experience and forklift experience.
• Experience documenting, improving, and implementing process instructions.
