Industrial Designer (Hardware)

Location: San Francisco, CA, United States; hybrid schedule with a minimum of 3 days in the office per week.

Salary: $135,000–$185,000 annual base salary, plus performance bonus and equity.

What you will do

• Execute approved industrial design concepts for new hardware products, including form, proportion, and overall appearance.
• Create and refine accurate, manufacturable 3D models and surfaces for engineering handoff.
• Develop sketches, renderings, layouts, compositions, and exploded views to communicate design intent.
• Collaborate with mechanical and hardware engineers on feasibility, tolerances, structural constraints, and production-ready solutions.
• Support prototyping and sample evaluation by reviewing physical models and applying design refinements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Design, Product Design, Art Design, or a related field.
• More than 5 years of industrial design experience, including successful hardware product design projects.
• Hands-on knowledge of industrial design processes, CMF, manufacturing workflows, and product design trends.
• Proficiency in Rhino, 3ds Max, SolidWorks, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Experience with 3D printing tools and operations, plus strong hand-drawing skills.
• High attention to detail, strong ownership, professionalism, and rigorous design quality standards.
