Industrial Designer (Aerospace)

Location: Hawthorne, California, United States; onsite

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 per year

hirify.global designs and builds lunar systems and hardware, including rovers, power systems, and data networks for sustained operations on the Moon.

What you will do

• Lead industrial design from initial concept sketches through final production-ready forms for lunar rovers, systems, and payload interfaces.
• Collaborate with aerospace and mechanical engineers to address thermal, structural, mass, and other lunar-operation constraints.
• Own the Color, Materials, and Finish strategy and develop a cohesive visual language for hirify.global hardware.
• Translate engineering requirements and brand identity across the marketing and engineering organizations.
• Communicate design intent to engineering, leadership, and investors using Blender, Adobe Creative Suite, and Alias.
• Rapidly iterate on forms and concepts based on engineering feedback, testing, and brand alignment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, transportation design, product design, or a related field.
• Experience taking physical products or hardware from concept through production.
• Experience using Blender and Adobe Creative Suite, with working knowledge of Alias.
• Portfolio demonstrating product design work involving complex design challenges and constraints.
• Experience communicating technical or complex design concepts to cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Experience accounting for manufacturing requirements, material constraints, environmental conditions, and product performance.

Nice to have

• Class A modeling experience.
• Experience applying CMF principles to physical products or hardware.
• Experience in transportation, robotics, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, or a related industry.
• Experience working in a studio environment or at the intersection of brand, product design, and engineering.
• Experience designing hardware for extreme environments or regulated industries.
