Salary: $119,543–$152,749 per year, plus potential stock options and/or long-term cash awards
Company
develops commercial space infrastructure, including in-orbit pharmaceutical processing systems, reentry capsules, heat shields, and satellite buses, with vehicles and equipment built, integrated, and tested in-house.
What you will do
- Own spacecraft integration sequences and procedures from subassembly mating through final vehicle closeout and acceptance.
- Develop and improve assembly travelers and integration work instructions covering subsystem interfaces.
- Coordinate manufacturing activities with structures, propulsion, avionics, and thermal protection systems engineering teams.
- Identify and resolve interface conflicts, clearance issues, and assembly sequence problems on the production floor.
- Lead integration readiness reviews and verify cleanliness, FOD sweeps, torque records, pin-to-pin checks, and documentation.
- Drive root-cause analysis and corrective action for integration non-conformances, track integration metrics, and define tooling and lifting equipment requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of experience in vehicle or system-level integration or final assembly in aerospace, defense, robotics, or a similar industry.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and fluid subsystem interfaces within vehicle assembly.
- Experience developing and executing complex assembly or integration procedures and making real-time production-floor decisions.
- Strong communication and coordination skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Must be physically able to lift 25 lbs., bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods while working with flight hardware.
Nice to have
- Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, particularly in Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, or Control Theory.
- Lead integration engineering experience on a launch vehicle, satellite, or spacecraft program.
- Experience with integration and test flows, configuration management, build records, cleanliness control, or multi-supplier flight-hardware integration.
- Hands-on experience with cranes, slings, rotation fixtures, and precision alignment tooling.
- Experience scaling manufacturing from unit builds to concurrent multi-vehicle production.
