Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Integration) (Aerospace)

Location: On-site in El Segundo, California, United States. Regularly lift 25 lbs., bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods while working with flight hardware. Relocation support may be available for new hires.

Salary: $140,333–$179,314 per year, plus potential stock options and/or long-term cash awards.

What you will do

• Own spacecraft integration sequences and procedures from subassembly mating through final vehicle closeout and acceptance.
• Develop and improve assembly travelers and integration work instructions covering subsystem interfaces.
• Coordinate manufacturing activities with structures, propulsion, avionics, and thermal protection systems engineering teams.
• Identify and resolve interface conflicts, clearance issues, and assembly-sequence problems on the production floor.
• Lead integration readiness reviews and verify cleanliness, FOD sweeps, torque records, pin-to-pin checks, and documentation.
• Drive root-cause analysis, corrective actions, non-conformance disposition, integration metrics, tooling requirements, and production-cadence improvements.

Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience; typically 3–6+ years.
• At least 3 years of vehicle or system-level integration or final-assembly experience in aerospace, defense, robotics, or a similar industry.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and fluid subsystem interfaces within vehicle assemblies.
• Experience developing and executing complex assembly or integration procedures.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and make sound real-time decisions in a production environment, with strong cross-functional communication skills.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States and qualify as a U.S. person for access to export-controlled technology.

Nice to have

• M.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, Control Theory, or a related discipline.
• Lead integration engineering experience on a launch vehicle, satellite, or spacecraft program.
• Experience with aerospace integration and test flows, configuration management, build records, contamination control, and functional checkouts.
• Hands-on experience with cranes, slings, rotation fixtures, precision alignment tooling, and concurrent multi-vehicle production.
