  • Plan and supervise structural, thermal, hydraulic, stress, and other engineering analyses, including review of FEA and advanced stress-analysis results.
  • Develop design bases, technical reports, calculations, design descriptions, drawings, standards, and engineering guides.
  • Manage engineering changes, risks, design reviews, independent reviews, and acceptance reviews for relevant systems, structures, and components.
  • Support procurement by developing technical requirements, evaluating supplier proposals, and reviewing vendor documentation and procured equipment.
  • Lead external engineering partners, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and mentor junior engineers while setting technical direction.

Requirements

  • Senior-level experience, typically 15+ years for Level V or 20+ years for Level VI, with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Expert knowledge of pressure-vessel design, including stress analysis, shell theory, nozzle reinforcement, flange design, supports, internals, fatigue, thermal stresses, and dynamic loads.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, especially Sections III and VIII, API 650/620, and other nuclear and non-nuclear codes and standards.
  • Experience with mechanical or commercial power-generation equipment design, procurement, installation, or operation, including pressure vessels and tanks.
  • Knowledge of materials selection, corrosion allowances, fabrication, welding, heat treatment, quality control, non-destructive examination, and fitness-for-service assessment.
  • Experience with systems engineering, nuclear licensing and safety requirements, requirements verification, supplier oversight, and vendor documentation review.

Nice to have

  • Master's or Ph.D. in engineering or a related field.
  • Experience authoring and maintaining company design standards and guides for tanks and pressure vessels.
  • Experience with field-erected and shop-fabricated atmospheric, low-pressure, and specialty tanks.

Culture & Benefits

  • Full-time exempt employment with a structured office-based hybrid schedule.
  • 401(k) plan with employer match.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
