What you will do

  • Develop detailed mechanical designs and analyses for ASME Section III Class HB pressure boundaries and Class HG internals for the Natrium Generation IV Reactor.
  • Prepare, review, and certify Design Specifications, Design Reports, calculations, load evaluations, and qualification reports.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to define requirements, resolve technical issues, and optimize component performance.
  • Support material selection, fabrication requirements, inspection criteria, acceptance standards, licensing, audits, and regulatory reviews.
  • Participate in engineering changes, nonconformance evaluations, corrective actions, and code certification processes.
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and maintain knowledge of ASME Section III revisions, NRC guidance, and industry practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred.
  • At least 6 years of equipment or component design experience; a relevant master’s degree may count as two years of experience.
  • Active Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
  • Experience with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section III and certification of Design Specifications and Design Reports for nuclear pressure-retaining components.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME Section III, NQA-1, and related NRC regulations, plus finite element stress analysis and ANSYS or comparable mechanical stress analysis tools.
  • Applicants are subject to U.S. Government export-control qualification requirements; hirify.global will review citizenship or U.S. immigration status for applicable positions.
