Backend Engineer (AI)

Location: Palo Alto, United States; hybrid with on-site work required 3 days per week

Salary: $160,000–$240,000 per year, plus equity and benefits

Company

hirify.global is building a generative AI healthcare SaaS platform with governance guardrails, healthcare-specific agent creation, and real-time algorithm monitoring for health systems.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain core platform services for the healthcare AI product.
• Build integrations across the platform's microservices and RESTful APIs.
• Write clean, efficient, maintainable Python and related backend code.
• Contribute to infrastructure automation, monitoring, alerting, and production support.
• Create technical documentation, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with the engineering team.
• Assist with project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.

Requirements

• Production experience with generative AI applications or platforms at scale.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with TypeScript or Java; experience with Go or Rust is required.
• Understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, cloud platforms, and Terraform.
• Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Bachelor's degree required; a master's degree is highly desirable.
• Able to work on-site in Palo Alto 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• 6+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with AI/ML platforms and frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, and Azure, especially significant GCP experience.
• Familiarity with React, Angular, or Vue.
• Previous healthcare industry experience.
