Software Engineer (AI)

Location: New York City; on-site, in person at the office 4–5 days per week

Salary: $240,000–$300,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Build systems that enable autonomous buildings to operate and communicate intelligently.
• Develop and own customer-facing product features from design through deployment.
• Improve the scalability and reliability of core infrastructure.
• Propose and implement architecture and design pattern improvements.
• Collaborate with product and design to turn AI capabilities into user-facing experiences.
• Ship frequent production improvements while applying testing, observability, and continuous integration best practices.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience with Java, C#, Go, or Python.
• Strong understanding of system design and scalable architecture principles.
• Ability to solve complex problems independently with minimal guidance.
• Startup mindset, ownership, urgency, pragmatism, and a bias for action.
• Willingness to work in person at the New York City office 4–5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Understanding of microservices architecture and event-driven distributed systems.
• Understanding of machine learning and data.
• AWS experience.
