Operational Excellence Lead: BioVectra

Location: US-based, with substantial on-site presence of approximately 50–60% and significant travel to BioVectra sites in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia and across the North American ATD footprint.

Salary: $146,640–$274,950 USD gross annual in the US, or $130,800–$214,594 CAD gross annual in Canada, plus bonus, stock, and benefits.

hirify.global’s Advanced Therapeutics Division includes BioVectra, a CDMO producing active pharmaceutical ingredients at clinical-to-commercial scale across microbial fermentation, small molecules, plasmid DNA, mRNA, LNP, and sterile fill.

What you will do

• Own the production-system build across the full value stream, from incoming materials through release-readiness.
• Run rapid diagnostics and translate findings into deployment roadmaps aligned with site operations and quality leadership.
• Build tiered daily management, leader standard work, SQDC boards, visual performance management, and structured escalation routines.
• Lead kaizen events, value-stream mapping, A3 and PSP problem-solving, and countermeasures targeting yield, throughput, cycle time, changeovers, and right-first-time execution.
• Use MES, electronic batch records, shop-floor data, analytics, and appropriate digital or AI tools to surface process abnormalities.
• Coach supervisors, operators, and practitioners while embedding standardized methods, governance routines, and durable accountability mechanisms.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in life science, chemical engineering, biochemical engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in a GMP or similarly regulated and complex production environment; 10+ years is helpful.
• Hands-on experience deploying and sustaining Toyota Production System, Lean, Danaher Business System, or a comparable operating system.
• Experience with strategy deployment, tiered daily management, kaizen, standard work, visual management, and structured problem-solving.
• Demonstrated sustained business results across safety, quality, delivery, throughput, yield, cycle time, cost, or client performance.
• Deep root-cause and structured problem-solving expertise, with the ability to coach operators and influence senior leaders.

Nice to have

• CDMO or contract manufacturing experience.
• Lean, Six Sigma, or TPS certification.
• Danaher Business System Certified Practitioner or Advanced Certified Practitioner status.
