TL;DR
Fluids Manufacturing Engineer (Aerospace): Building and transitioning the first Pumped Fluid Loop from prototype to rate production with an accent on design for manufacturability, fluid-system assembly, and production tooling. Focus on establishing the manufacturing work center, developing automated build flows and capacity models, and qualifying components through fill, proof, and leak testing.

Location: Los Angeles, CA, United States; onsite role

Base salary: $100,000–$140,000 per year, plus company equity

hirify.global is a Series C space startup developing and mass-producing high-power satellite platforms for commercial and U.S. government missions from low Earth orbit to deep space.

What you will do

  • Establish the manufacturing work center for hirify.global’s first Pumped Fluid Loop, including fluid-component creation, assembly, and testing.
  • Lead design-for-manufacturing efforts with design engineering teams to improve cost, quality, scalability, and integration risk.
  • Develop manufacturing plans, production workflows, build flows, tooling, and automation concepts for satellite fluid systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technicians to investigate nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
  • Serve as the manufacturing point of contact for system fill, proof, and leak testing.
  • Develop capacity models and production-rate ramp strategies for program growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical, aerospace, mechanical, computer, or another engineering discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience creating, improving, and removing production processes and workflows, and working with CAD software and models.
  • Experience qualifying components and assemblies through vibration and thermal testing.
  • Experience assembling fluid systems and applying leak-testing methods.
  • Experience working in a cleanroom with ESD-sensitive equipment and creating GSE, tooling, or manufacturing fixtures.

Nice to have

  • Experience in testing or automation.
  • Proficiency in Python or Rust.
  • Experience with functional testing of fluid components such as pumps and accumulators.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and prioritization skills.
