Specialist, Production Engineer (Automotive Manufacturing)

Location: Blythewood, South Carolina, United States; onsite 4–5 days per week with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel.

Salary: $100,000–$125,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

• Support production teams in achieving production goals and maintaining stable body production processes.
• Implement short- and long-term containment actions for vehicle design and part-quality deviations.
• Collaborate with body production, maintenance, and other departments to resolve equipment, communication, and production issues.
• Identify bottlenecks, analyze product launches, and improve production flow and cross-functional performance.
• Coordinate special build events within the Pilot Hall body team and provide technical guidance on required techniques and regulations.
• Train team members and facilitate regular meetings focused on challenges and improvement opportunities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in automotive manufacturing, with a concentration in body-in-white and stable production processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field; equivalent relevant automotive engineering and production experience may substitute.
• High proficiency with DFMEA, PFMEA, and control plans.
• Knowledge of metrology equipment and measurement reports, including the use of shimming to adjust fixtures, jigs, and equipment for dimensional requirements.
• Experience with 8D or similar problem-solving methods and strong analytical skills.
• Familiarity with statistical process control and control charts.
